Our digital Marketing Manager had such a good time at Reading Beer Festival that he decided to write a short blog documenting his exploits with a large group of rugby players. Each year they like nothing more than to get decked out in some costumes and have a ruddy good knees up, as Bernard Bresslaw might say if this was a Carry On film and it was 1973.
May signals the start of a busy time in my social calendar – it really makes the month fly by. This isn’t helped by having two Bank Holidays in it either. I would be all in favour in spreading them out my evenly over the year – I think most bosses would too!

Personally, I’ve not really followed Eurovision too closely since I was younger, so much younger than today. You could say that, today I need anybody’s help in any way. Yes I know the Beatles have nothing to do with Eurovision but it is a music reference and that’s the best you’re going to get, so stop winging.
This blog features 10 tips for a successful Eurovision party along with a load of rambling and a couple of subpar jokes.

After yet another successful stint in 2011, Rewind festival 2012 is looking to out-do itself by putting on the biggest incarnation of the gathering to date.
For the second successive year there will be two dates that will host the 80s nostalgia weekend event. The original Henley-on-thames location will be in its usual August timeslot and once again, following a triumphant debut last June at Scone Palace in Perth, the Scottish leg will be looking to be even bigger and better than last years effort.

Working at Jokers Masquerade fancy dress certainly provides some interesting opportunites. For example, In our marketing office we were just thinking, “wouldn’t it be great if we could offer some help to our customers to be able to make their own bobsled”. Yes, we really do think things like that, hard to believe in a place of business huh? Well, this notion comes from offering a unique look if you were to go out with a few friends all dressed in our excellent Cool Runnings fancy dress costume. It was a great film from the early 1990s and now the outfit is finally available, we think that it would be super fun if you could also have your own bobsled.
Here’s what we suggest:
-
Source a series of boxes, a canoe or PVC barrels.
-
Get yourself some green, yellow and black paint.
-
Craft a Jamaican bobsled shape out of your chosen material
-
Paint as per the image below
-
Have a great time!!!

Jamaican Bobsled
Here’s some inspiration for your own Jamaican boblsed. We’ve found three excellent homemade Jamaican bobsleds.
This one featured in the great north run and was used by four guys called James Desmond, Richard Bagnall, Craig Rockliffe and Andy Thompson. They raised money for The Motor Neurone Disease Association and did a great job.
Although this one is nowhere near as good as the previous effort, these four Americans from Richmond won a local fancy dress contest using a single design of boxes and a lot of paint.
Finally, this one we have little information on as College Humor have failed to offer any and we can’t seem to track down the origin of the image. Top marks for the presentation of the Jamaican bobsled though, these guys have really piled the effort in. The only issue we have is that the homemade Cool Runnings costume doesn’t seem to look as good as our one. Still, next time they will know to come and visit us.
In discovering this blog we’re willing to bet that you’ve been invited to a fancy dress party that calls for you to go in fancy dress beginning with T.
Be sure to take a moment to view our Letter T costumes category for your fill of Tarzan, turtle and Tin Man fancy dress, plus more fancy dress ideas starting with T that will be both original and unique.

April 19th 2012 is an anniversary of sorts for the current longest-running American sitcom. Back in 1987 the Simpsons originated as a short segment on The Tracey Ullman Show, a US variety programme which was hosted by David Letterman, only kidding, yes you guessed it correctly, it was hosted by Slough’s finest, Tracey Ullman.
It has been 25 years since everyone’s favourite Springfield family first debuted on TV and in that time have gone on to gain worldwide acclaim. The Simpsons movie alone grossed over half a billion dollars back in 2007.
